Biography

Hutson Rollins is working on his Bachelor of Choral Music Education at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Miss. From Gulfport, Miss., he is a composer who has studied with the likes of Tõnu Kõrvits, Richard Burchard, and John David Earnest. Rollins is also a singer with the Southern Chorale under the direction of Dr. Gregory Fuller, and studies tenor voice with Dr. Meredith Johnson. While most of his works are choral, Rollins writes many different kinds of ensembles, including brass quintets, solo harp, wind quintets, as well as many others. Rollins has had many of his pieces premiered by ensembles in Mississippi, including the Southern Chorale, USM Concert Choir, The USM Brass Quintet, as well as many chamber groups and vocalists.
