Composer & Arranger of All Music

Rollins has written for many different ensembles, such as The University of Southern Mississippi Southern Chorale under Dr. Gregory Fuller, The University of Southern Mississippi Concert Choir under Dr. Jonathan Kilgore, as well as many student and high-school level ensembles both instrumental and choral.

Classical and Commercial Tenor Voice

Rollins is currently studying both Classical and Commercial voice with Dr. Meredith Johnson. Rollins was also trained in Germany through the Young Artist program IPAI led by Dr. Bruce Earnest. Rollins has taken part in many different opera/musical theatre productions, such as Amahl and the Night Visitors by Menotti, Beauty and the Beast by Menken, Rent by Larson, as well as many others.

Composers Hutson Rollins and Ben Dondanville are collaborating on an exciting new song cycle for bass trombone, tenor voice, and piano using the text “The Hollow Men” by T.S. Eliot. Click below to learn more about it!

Crickets & Commas

“Crickets & Commas” was commissioned by Dr. Jonathan Kilgore for the University of Southern Mississippi Concert Choir to perform in the Spring of 2023. The five-movement work sets haiku written by poet Robert Bode for SATB choir. Each movement is distinct from the other, and offers a lush array of emotions and harmonies.
